Strange statement? I dont think it is. All through American democracy, public opinion and "town meetings" have controlled and modified the behavior of their policies and politicians. Now blogs and social media make it easy for these meetings to hold concurrently and online. This means a politicians fate can be decided on a blog or site without being able to influence (for the most part) the outcome of such discussion. I say ...'the fear of social media is the beginning of wisdom for politicians and public figures alike" Power has been given to us. Look for example at what has played out with this rumor that GEJ wanted to remove the INEC boss (not true by the way). Even if he planned to ...he wouldnt dare to do it now because of the outrage it caused on social media. Outrage that could cost anybody (not endorsing anyone)the elections. Nigerians finally have a voice! We can decide online ...we can influence each other now....we can inform each other about the antics of anyone who tries to destroy our nation....AND I TRUST THAT NIGERIANS WILL USE THIS POWER!
